This dataset tracks average retail petrol (PMS) prices across Nigeria's states and geopolitical zones each month from November 2024 through January 2025, sourced from the National Bureau of Statistics Price Watch reports. Each monthly tab shows the current price alongside the previous month and the same month a year earlier, with month-on-month and year-on-year percentage changes already calculated.
If fuel is a meaningful cost in your business — transport, logistics, generators, deliveries, or field operations — this data helps you budget more accurately and compare fuel costs across locations. For example, in January 2025 the national average was N1,258.34 per litre, up 5.82% from December, but state prices ranged widely: Kogi averaged N1,114.29 (down 6.22% month-on-month) while Benue reached N1,411.11 (up 14.3%). Those gaps matter when deciding where to route deliveries, site depots, or price services regionally.
The year-on-year figures put recent changes in context: prices in January 2025 were roughly 88% higher than a year earlier nationally, with some states more than doubling.
